STRAIGHT TALK

Heard of the “20/60/20 rule”?
Forensic accountants have, based on their experience, a rule of thumb: 20% of employees would NEVER steal, or do anything illegal or unethical, while 20% WILL and 60% can be influenced.

Ignoring this rule leaves organizations wide open to operational risk and impacts the bottom line. Balancing the incredible pressure for results and high levels of competence against high risk behaviours is critical for corporate reputation in today’s business world.

All the controls in the world do not eliminate risk or ensure a culture of honesty and integrity. Why? Because the one key element left is people. “People” use the processes and systems corporations monitor – they make decisions and take actions on the organization’s behalf all day long. What if only 20% of your employees can be counted on to do the right thing?
Based on the book "Absolute Honesty: Building a Corporate Culture That Values Straight Talk and Rewards Integrity (AMACOM, June 2003), STRAIGHT TALK is a program whose time has come. It has been designed to assist leadership in confronting and delaing with the fundamental communication and cultural issues now facing every organization - top to bottom.

Board Members, CEO’s, and Executives are more accountable and faced with more pressure than ever to deal with ethics and governance and drive a culture of honesty like no time in recent history.

This session on STRAIGHT TALK will show you how mitigate risk in your organization by establishing a standard of communication in your team that encourages open discussion and healthy debate, is open to the truth, doesn’t mince words and, most of all, creating a team that is guided by a moral and ethical sense of right and wrong.
Whether you sit on the Board of Directors, are the CEO or a member of the Senior Executive, you must influence the "20/60/20" rule within your organization. The only way to do that is by "building a corporate culture that values STRAIGHT TALK and Rewards Integrity".
Providing the right tools for staff at all levels to create or sustain an open culture will safeguard your organization from issues that can expose or create scandals.

There are many program delivery options available including facilitated on-site sessions or train the trainer sessions. There is package specifically designed for Board Members and Executives. For more information regarding this training and how it can help you create and foster open communications call HR Construct.

"The timing couldn't be better! ABSOLUTE HONESTY is the road map to a culture of corporate integrity. Thanks for reminding us how easy it is to have integrity." - Nancy Veno, Human Resources Director, DuPont

"ABSOLUTELY HONESTY makes timeless principles timely, affirming what most of us already know: integrity, honesty and consistency are the foundations of communication. But Johnson and Phillips' work goes beyond principles to actions. Their 'Six Absolute Honesty Laws' offer specific guidelines to follow and actions to take to ensure a candid and truthful culture." - Dave Ulrich, Professor of Busienss, University of Michigan (named #1 Management Educator and Guru by Business Week).
